Born as Nana Yaw Adjei Maradona, known in the showbiz as Guru has released his latest album titled Journey of Juda, which is made of 34 songs on the album. The album consist of Hip-Hop, Afro-beats and Hip-Life.
When asked about his creativity in putting this masterpiece together, in a radio interview hosted by
KMJ, he said, "Creativity makes it easier when you love whatever you are doing. But sometimes you just have to be different from your creative zone, that they know you to be, so people do not tag you as this".
When as asked about his brand identity, because he seem to be reinventing himself each time. "I don't struggle to find an identity for my brand, because as an artist i challenge myself with different characters; Kasiebo, Nkwadakwada, Mbaekuo and others, so i want to be seen as a versatile character or artist". he explained.
Talking about his transformation, he also explained that, you are surrounded with people and they keep you in track, so if there is anything like a break in the team, it makes hard to achieve set target, since everyone plays a vital role in the team. Formally, the brand Guru was managed by this guy, but later looking at a few things, decides to bring new people on board, who are new to the Guru brand, definitely will affect you as a brand.
"Challenges in the life of an artist is part of the process in growing your brand. You get real positive and negative people. And it is difficult to know who is real and bad ones, he said. "Going forward with that, you have to accept any negative result and be conscious about the steps you take. Trusting people around you is really difficult, since eating and drinking was on-hold, and was like the bad was dominating the good. This really affected my emotions, since people wished me evil than good" he further explained.
"Speaking about him, been poisoned, it wasn't just ones but a continues thing, since it came in the form of food, water etc... I was on stage the other time, the crowd were jamming up, suddenly took a water and a few seconds later my voice can not be heard. Then you have to leave the stage", he said.
He also talked about his signees to his label. He has signed new artists to his label NKZ label, which include; Wutah, Ofori Amponsah, Singlet and King Paluta. Although he is the boss of the label, he works with a team and so the team decides on what to do at a particular time, but not him, he added.
