OAK started editing films and taking an exclusive photograph at the age of 14. He started his filmmaking career at this age by learning from his father who was a photographer and a videographer at that time. He started editing films for his father in the Junior Secondary School (J.H.S) by using analogue mixers and video mixers since there were no computers available to them. his father taught him as a son and also as an apprentice.
In his second cycle education at the Suhum Senior High Technical School (SUTESCO), OAK started using the computer for editing and due to his hardworking under his father as an apprentice for editing, he was able to grasp it with ease.
Since his father had no computer for editing videos OAK never got that part of knowledge from his dad but instead learnt it on his own. His source of learning how to edit videos using the computer was from a popularly known site as ‘Youtube’ where he downloaded and watched the tutorials of others using computers to edit videos, which helped him gain more knowledge and inside about using computers for editing. He had to become a day student in the secondary school in order to assist his father and also enhance his career.
For the love he had for filmmaking, he proceeded to the National Film and Television Institute after his secondary school education. Here he learnt film directing. He has come out with many projects to his filmmaking a career by shooting a music video for a popularly known musician by the name Okyeame Kwame, Hallelujah being the name of the music video and also making commercials for some companies like Philips and much more.
Ofori Ankah Kofi is now a filmmaker and Environmental Preservation Activist at Hipsters of Nature (NGO).
